We should have the rules and classes up on the site right after the first of the year, but you are correct on the history and having a drag race. Historically, we have always held a drag race and autocross at the BBB. The challenge with the logistics for us, is coordinating the different venues (drag strip and autocross location) that provide us a place to hold the event and still be easily accessible to the public to come and spectate. The event is half for us to have fun, but more importantly, raise public awareness and get them to see what the EV's are all about.
The venue challenge was a little tough this year, so the planning team decided to drop the drag race at the event this year and replace it with an acceleration test at the same venue. We will have a 100ft section setup for doing the acceleration tests. That said, I think Matt Graham is working to have an informal meet at the Palm Beach International Raceway (formerly Moroso) for anyone who wants to drag race Friday night. However, the drag race will not e part of the actual BBB this year. Hope that helps clarify.
