The workflow task ID isn't available until after the create task step has been executed. What you can do (if you decide to take the vs route) is to place an on task created activity, bind the after properties which will give you the task ID - you can then store that, and use a sendemail as your next task, and provide the link.

I'm just wondering if anyone out there has ever tried creating something similar using SPD before we delve deeper into VS2005. Basically, the client needs just a simple email with a link to the actual task that they need to complete. They don't like the body of the email OOTB, they want to be able to specify the wordings themselves. Would really appreciate any ideas/thoughts on this one.
