In Outlook, the senders original address is always in the "from" line and easy to retrieve. It just automatically replies to the list....it is easy to add the senders address to the "To" line.

Personally I like it, but I know sometimes people want to send to the originator only. On Thunderbird (and maybe outlook, but I don't run M$ software so I don't know) you can right click on the email address in the "From" line of a message and select "Copy email address". Then when you reply, you can highlight the "To" line in the reply and replace it by entering a Ctrl-V. Now your email will go to the originator. Someone that runs Outlook can confirm (or not) that there is an equivalent right click menu item. If not, this is a great time to check out Thunderbird!
