When we visited Mystic we anchored in 41 18.80 071 58.50 in 13' off Ram
Island and dinghied in to the north and then north-northwest through a
large mooring field to the main channel.
We carried an operating handheld Garmin 12 GPS in with us in the daylight
and found it was very useful to retrace our track when returning to the
ship in the dark later. Also bring a strong flashlight to light up the
moored boats when returning in the dark.
There is a public dock very near the drawbridge. Perhaps there are stores
nearby.
We landed in the Seaport at a little small boat dock about as far up the
river as you can go and still be alongside the Seaport. Then we walked to
the ticket boot from inside the Seaport to get our tickets. Nobody
bothered us.
I love Mystic Seaport, as touristy as it may be, it is still a shrine to me.
