I will agree with you , that Boot Key is terrific! However, after living here in the Keys over 30 years, and cruising these Keys waters, I remember the old Faro Blanco, and Plantation Yacht Harbor, and yes I even lived at Marina del Mar for several years. Cruising the Keys WAS GREAT then! But it was also very friendly, relatively inexpensive, and the owners were persons, not corporations, who really wanted you there. I have witnessed a lot of that "cruising community" go away. It is very sad. And again, I do agree with you , Boot Key is VERY Boater friendly and a very nice community..I like it there alot. We are heading out May 1st (if we have a $ea$on this year) to do the loop again,, and I will keep an open mind. Hope to see you out there! Might even get down to boot this year, who know....
