did you go read the posting on the salty southeast net link? It looks like they are working with us.. that is all we can ask.. It also again specificaly bars the munipalities from making thier own anchoring ordinances. Sarasota is a test case.. The owners of Marina Jack have always been snooty.. they think they own Sarasota Bay. There really is no real reason to stop there as far as I can see. Go up to Bradenton Beach, anchor just south of the pier and take the local trolly to the west marine express there if you need boat stuff. Or park it near the crows nest in Venice.. or simply pass it by offshore..
Fort Myers, last I heard had a new marina overseeing thier mooring field.. and had even built a new dingy dock beachside to accomdate cruisers dinks.. I heard via the coconut telegraph that the mooring balls had been replaced in Naples.. not verified it though.. no need yet... (grins).. Naples City Dock is a great place to stop.. nice people.. good service.. cannot tell about the east caost as I have never sailed further than Fort Lauderdale.. I guess when I do finally go south I will find out..
