So you see the title and wonder.. now just what does this have to do with sailing and living aboard.. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Quakes/prp0904905.php
the Mona Passage is sailing daily by cruisers... just more proof that there are still things out there that make ya go hmmmmmmmm... I clearly remember the stories written about being at Phuket during that huge tidal wave a few yrs ago.. those who made it out to sea .. well they stil have thier boats... others..... and the url below... well it shows the fault line that many forget or never knew that lives in the carribean.. http://neic.usgs.gov/neis/recent/prp0904905_l.html main page for the USGS earthquake page...great photos of the 'ring of fire' http://earthquake.usgs.gov/ and of course UC at Berkeley would be into quakes... http://seismo.berkeley.edu/seismo/ http://seismo.berkeley.edu/seismo.networks.html <---for you west coast sailors some great info on the Hayward fault I think it can be said that we boaters live at one with nature, almost more than most. and for our European members.. check out where the most quakes are in the med.. NO surprise.. Greece/turkey http://www.emsc-csem.org/index.php?page=home another thing to affect our sailing... but what a ride eh? fair winds.. -- It's not about the boat it's sails or rigging. It's about the freedom. http://www.slideshare.net/jacko91/these-are-my-credentials/ http://fisherhouse.org/ http://www.specialops.org/ "We are the guardians of a great faith. When we believe that freedom offers the best chance of peace and prosperity for all, and our desire for peace cannot be seperated from our believe in liberty." Harry S. Truman "Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it." --Mark Twain
