Norm,

I just want to express my condolences on the passing of your Mom. At 93
years, it sounds like she had a nice long run and was comforted at the end
by your presence. While we sometimes all carp at each other back and forth
on this list, the reality is that as a sailing community, what affects one
is felt by all and the bottom line is that sometimes there are more
important issues in our lives, such as out families.

Both Carolee and I have missed your visiting Oyster Bay each summer and we
certainly understand that the responsibilities of assisting a parent over
the joy of cruising. We'll be around for a long time to take cruises but
there's only one opportunity to stand by a loved one as they start to fail.
You said it all at the end of your post. Enjoy your family, expecially your
parents, while you can!

You're in our thoughts and prayers and we're hoping that you'll resume your
'Northern' cruise again this summer and stop off in Oyster Bay as you've
done in the past! I can't wait to raft up my new boat with Bandersnatch as
we used to!

Steve
