All this talk abt Fla anchoring laws and Water Nazi officer and the like
prompts me to relate our experience on the eastern seaboard. Living on the
Gulf Coast we have been to Fla many times over the yrs and then dwn the
entire west coast of Fla to the Keys and Tortugas. Continuing up the east
side to NY. That gave us a good sample. By the way, we spent a whole season
just around Fla and up to Baltimore.
After several more seasons in NY and Canada, we are of the opinion, and we
all have them, that of all the states on the eastern seaboard that, drum
roll, the MOST FRIENDLY TO BOATERS IS----NY.
It is darn sure not Fla.
Note that we are not talking about the people in the other states, just the
whole attitude toward boaters in general. The small towns in NY welcome
boaters and want your business. This is simply not the case in Fla. I
attribute this to there being so many boats in Fla. Individually we met a
number of really nice people in Fla ( and the other states)
