At least not a new bad disk! > It's been my experience with hard drives that they fail almost immediately or a long time later. If they last the first 30 days, they're good for 5 years or more. The "experts" I associate with have had bad luck overall with WD drives, however I've had good success. Because of their experience I've been leaning to Seagate drives which have held up well also. Except for some drives made last summer which had a high infant mortality rate due to a firmware bug. One of the differences is the WD drives have a 3 year warranty and the Seagate have a 5 year.
