Interesting timing. About 10 days ago when I went to start the engine
after the winter storage, I found the throttle cable almost completely
frozen. Extremely stiff. For the first time since I have the boat, it
spent the winter without a wheel cover (I'm making a new one) and rain
got into the cable. I sprayed Kroil from a can (AeroKroil they call it)
just under the lever. After a few days, the Kroil having migrated down
the cable, it works better than ever. Smooth and barely any resistance.
I've also covered the throttle lever with some plastic sheeting and
masking tape until the new cover is ready.

Amazing stuff. I'm very happy I don't have to replace the cable.
How long will it last? Who knows. But it's the first time I've
lubricated the cable in 8 years.
