I buy at bacons on a regular basis. Somethings are a great deal and othesr
are so-so... take for instance the chart kit I bought $20 this past week.
Books at less than a 1/4 of thier value. As with any 'thrift' shop you have
to know what you are getting and what it is worth on the retail market. MOST
used marine goods shops use the West Marine catalog as thier pricing guide.

I recently bought a faucet for my foot pump for $10. It was brand new.
However the shower sump was listed at $89 and they would not come down off
the price. I can get a new one at defender for $87.10 and the boat show
price is $80..the West Marine price is $124.95. Places like that are good
for odd parts or things you might need, not brand new in the box stuff.. I
have a propane stove on hold for $250. It is a Hillerange, I will have it
professionally installed and still save buttloads in the long run.
Don's Salvage in Large Fl is a huge place... there is a trick to getting a
deal but I doubt you guys would be willing to wear a miniskirt, low cut top
and flirt with Billy to get it... (evil grins)...
YMMV.
