Thanks for the compliiment.

I have had failures of the doides, opens, if I recall correctly.  They are 
mounted inside the saloon so there is no water problems.

I bought new doide packs at Auto Zone.  Echlin AC13 or Wells DR302.  There is a 
number on the units DR5040-1 which might be a Delco Remy number, along with 
what looks like a date code and country code "1096 CN" on one, and "0107 CN" on 
another.  They are made in China.  None are potted.

The units come apart into sets of three diodes, a positive group and a negative 
group.  I save the good groups which can be used to replace bad groups that

and unless KISS totally potted the back side (I doubt it) water intrusion can 
get into the aluminum/ copper connector lead space and short out a diode (or
