Monitoring is nice but don't we sail for the quiet enjoyment of being 
swept along by the wind? Granted it is nice to be connected in case 
of.......... but around here, Great Lakes, it is mostly power boaters 
with the cutesy names trying desperately to hook up with some other 
demented partier in a gas guzzler.  Some days I forget to turn it on.:-)

Duly noted that not all are sailors or obnoxious weekenders in power 
boats so save the flames.
