The Fairport (not fairhope) marina/resturant in Reedville MD is neither gourmet
nor expensive and we love go there to peel a few crabs. Perhaps Bella is
confusing that facility with the Crazy Crab, a nearby marina/restaurant with
pretensions that fits her description.

There is a seafood deli a short dinghy ride from where we are anchored off the
Crazy Crab and we once walked to a small "Mom and Pop" grocery about a mile
from the deli. Fresh fish are available when the fish pound boat comes in
nearby early in the morning.

Ron, we passed an outbound menhaden boat on the way in to Reedville yesterday
and the plant is definitely not shut down as evidenced by the scent when we
were downwind of it and the white vapors rising from their stack.

We did smell the plant on the way in and once, years ago, we got a wiff of the
plant while anchored. It smelled like a fish processing plant, but certianly
not "vile" to us.

We enjoy Reedville for it's beautiful homes and waterfront. We will visit its
museum, cruise around in the dink and consume some crabs at the Fairport
marina/resturant today.

fairhope marina is cheep if need to get a slip... the restaurant there is NOT
with the bucks and the selection is very limited.. its just a tad but tooo
gourmet for the area. Real expensive too..
Nearest grocery is 12 miles away... I spent the past week there in the rain
and cold.. by the pogy plant.. be forewarned you anchor down wind of the pogy
plant you are gonn regret it..
pogy plant for those who don't know the term it is a plan tthat processes
menhaden for fishmeal.
The stench is vile.
