Have you thought about putting in Chroma Key effects or editing? You can use the new scribbler effect, which is a realtime effect, so attach it to a key in the mapper (ctrl-v). Then VJ -> set realtime effect defaults, you can set the font, font size, mode (foreground and background), colours and alpha levels. Then select the part of the clip you want, then "r" record, activate the effect and press "k" (keyboard grab). Now play the selection. Go into text mode by pressing "t" and enter your text. When done, press tab (exit text mode), and stop playback. In theory you should see the text being entered as you entered it and be able to render this to the clip. But for now you can use the keyboard to do this: eg. insert clip 1. Use ctrl-l to move to the end of the insert. Press ctrl-left-arrow 10 times to move back 10 seconds. Use ctrl-down to move to the next video track. Ctrl-page-up and ctrl-page-down to select the clip, and then i or ctrl-i to insert.
