Hi all,
I am delighted to announce the release of LiVES 2.8.6.
This release features the often requested audio level indication in the
Clip Editor, as well as some substantial optimisations in the Multitrack
interface during playback. Playback is now as smooth in multitrack as it is
in the clip editor.
Other improvments in multitrack include: painting the white background to
the timeline bars correctly again, and improved zoom (it now zooms around
the cursor rather than the middle of the timeline). In addition the
annoying bug where the timeline auto backup would pop the screen into the
foreground has been removed (if you have ever suffered from this you will
know how annoying it was). Also in multitrack, a bug which prevented keys
from working during fullscreen playback has been fixed.
Returning to the Clip Editor, there are fixes for breakage in Fade Audio In
/ Out, and external window grabbing. Another bug which caused the text in
the pop out message window to be squashed horizontally has been fixed.
Finally a rare crash in palette conversions (most noticable with Trim
Frames / Add Border) has been fixed. Compilation errors with the liblives
scripting engine were fixed, and the entire codebase has been reformatted
in a more tidy way (this is still a work in progress but it is
substantially complete). Additionally, the Glee GL extensions library has
been deprecated, so it is replaced with inline code now (hattip to the Glad
project for the assistance with this).
