I know there's been talk about the autosave feature, and how important
it is, and I agree, in the long run we should get that feature in
working order.

But until/unless we can stabilize the feature, I think it should be
removed entirely from the final release. There's no point having it
there if it doesn't work. Even if it's disabled by default, people are
going to see it in the settings and think "ooh autosave, that seems
useful",  enable it, and then they will wonder why LMMS hangs and
crashes, possibly give up on the software and buy FL studio.

So for the short term, I think it's better to not have the feature at
all rather than have a feature that makes LMMS literally unusable. We've
already removed other features that don't work currently (copy/paste in
automations, for one).

Also, I just talked to a guy on IRC who had a problem with LMMS hanging
constantly, on the RC release, and it was caused by autosave. Not sure
if it was still enabled by default or if he enabled it himself, but
either way that's something that's likely to cause problems down the
line, and alienate new users from LMMS.
