Yes, this is what I've programmed so far. Maybe for some non-LADSPA plugins or 
even sound generators we'd need to apply the scale type "by hand". There will 
probably be a history of bug reports like

  "Hey, in plugin xyz, knob abc is missing a plugin...".

However, these are just improvements, it will work as before if the scale type 
is wrong.
