Maybe 2 knobs, one would be the traditional frequency knob, disabled  
whenever "track note" is on, the other would be the "tune" knob which  
could be nice for automation, too. (OK, there's the logarithmic knobs  
feature under development which probably will make that knob  
unnecessary-ish for automation)

Actually, a mode-changing knob could be simulated by having those 2 in  
the same spot and only one of them visible depending on if the filter  
is tracking the note or not. No need to do any tricks with the models.

(Haven't dug into the code side of this yet, so I might be a bit off target)
