Well, for most use cases on LMMS currently, it's probably pretty much
unnecessary too... however, would it make sense to have a manual latency
compensation mechanism implemented for instrument tracks, so that
there'd be like a built-in delay in each instrument track which the user
could adjust, and compensate for latency manually that way?

I'm thinking it could be put on the MIDI tab, as a lcdwidget that lets
you define a delay in milliseconds for each instrument track. We could
keep it simple and only allow positive values, but negative values could
be implemented with some kind of static function, that checks the
minimum value between all the instrument tracks and normalizes them all
to zero if it's negative...
