I already said this elsewhere, but a quick recap:
- online and local resources shouldn't be mixed
- all online stuff should be separated in their own tab
- the current sidebar has much better separation of resources (separate
tabs for presets, projects, home, etc. not everything in the same
tab/window)

But that potentially causes a wait time at startup... I think it would
be preferable that the index would only be downloaded when the user asks
for online resources, ie. when the online tab is clicked for the first
time.

Separate all online resources in their own tab in the sidebar, and only
load the index for them when the tab is clicked. That'd be the best way
to handle this IMO, so people who don't want or need online
functionality can just ignore its existence.

What's wrong with the refresh button in the current sidebar? Why not use
that for refreshing the online resources as well?
