Since the official lmms forums are currently down I decided on a whim to check out your mailing lists. After reading the last few days worth I noticed a thread about sound glitches in relation to the output sound device. I used to have that same problem. Whenever I loaded a new project or played a song for a few times every track wound output incredibly garbled audio. At that time I was using straight ALSA within LMMS (pulseaudio for the system) and the only solution was to open up the system sound settings and toggle between different output selections such as headphones or S/PDIF and back.
Then I hit upon a solution that so far has yet to produce any issues. That is to set the lmms sound output to SDL. For whatever reason it works. I just tested it again while writing this message by listening to music in Clementine and a song in lmms simultaneously.
