It's likely the same thing as using PulseAudio, you're just adding another layer of abstraction there... ie. instead of LMMS -> PA, you have LMMS -> SDL -> PA. So latency most likely will not be very good... but if it works for you, that's great. However I think it's better in the long run if we get our Jack backend fixed.
