I believe it would be useful if LMMS had an option to save and edit self-contained projects, where external instruments used in the project are saved into it, similar to other tracker formats (e.g., Impulse Tracker). Not only would this make redistributing projects -- especially those that make use of many external instruments -- much easier, but if the structure of a user's local samples/SoundFonts/etc. directories ever changes, they would not have to update this information in every one of their projects (as I have had happen to me on occasion).
