Shawn, I'm waiting for turn-by-turn directions and then will buy Loadstone, but I'm going to comment after those items on your list I'm interested in:
* Maybe make it possible to move options around on the navigation screen. I like this idea. RT: I think this could be very helpful as not everyone uses the same options all the time. * Maybe have background announcements go to the notification center. Would this be of any help? RT: Question: can you lock the device while using and have Loadstone stil announce where you are or the next turn? Locking the phone certainly saves on battery usage. * See about some kind of repeat function for various commands. This may be useful in some cases. RT: Yes, repeat last step would be very helpful. * See about opening maps with a given point. Would this be useful? RT: Yes, if someone wanted to get an idea of a route starting from somewhere other than where they are, is that what you mean? * Make it possible to export personal points only. This may be useful. RT: yes, for back up. * Maybe put in heading calibration (heading accuracy) monitor. I'm not sure if this is needed but may be nice to know. RT: Probably useful. * Look in to automatic point announcement. This is another feature that should probably be moved up the list. RT: Only if it can be a toggle on or off. * Look at possible eta announcement for points. I'm not sure if this would be useful or accurate. RT: Google does this and is pretty darn accurate, but they have a huge team and resources. * Maybe make it possible to play wav files. Would this ever be needed? RT: I do not believe iPhones support wave files. MP3 or M4A would be fine and it is a huge space saver. I wouldn't waste time or space on wave files. * Add screen keep awake feature. The importer and exporter already do this, is it needed for the rest of the program? RT: I doubt it; so long as the app can function while locked/sleeping. Thanks, I am looking forward to giving it a whirl. Richard _______________________________________________ Loadstone mailing list [email protected] http://lists.loadstone-gps.com/listinfo/loadstone
