Hi Bert,

if you are referring to a User's Guide for the Sun Translation manual, there is one on the g11n Portal in the same location in which you get the STE the may guide you during the use of the editor.

As for the other questions, it's very good indeed that you have started looking at the tool now, since you'll need to know how it works when you start translating the OLH files of the Writer module.

The ST Editor does not support the gsi files directly, so we will need to convert them into XLIFF files that will be then read by STE.

I think that it would be a great idea to start testing the tool and clarify queries and issues before starting translation - which will only be possible once we have the GUI completed and we have an agreed Style guide and Glossary.

If you want I can provide you with some files in XLIFF format to test the ST Editor.

Just let me know.

Hi All,

I signed up for the Globalization Portal of Sun and downloaded the Sun Translation Editor. For the ones who are wondering: There's only a Windows and a Solaris version available, but the Solaris version works on Linux as well.
But the question is: Where to go from here? How can I do anything useful with the software? Is there any documentation available on how to set the STE up for the translation of the Dutch help files? If so, where can I find it?

Kind regards,

Bert
