Attached the reviewed NL Help Instructions for using OpenOffice.org
Calc, part 4 to issue 57793.
In this part I reviewed the chapter DATABASE RANGES IN TABLES.
I still doubt about the translation in the key-build. In earlier mails
I had given already some examples, but Bert M. told every time that
all goes fine. I am still afraid that there are some things going wrong.
Ok, I will try to clear this up. The latest key-id build has had some
reviewing. I have filed several issues regarding the translation of the
GUI and I know that others did that also. That does NOT mean that the
GUI translation is perfect now! There still could be errors that we
have overlooked.
But the thing I pointed out earlier was that key-id build is better than
the Dutch RC3.
In the dialogscreen "Define Database Range" the right-below button is
called "More". The translation of this word is not difficult. So the
helptext speaks about the button "Meer" and that is a correct
translation.
If we look in the key-build in the same Dutch screen then we see that
the button there is called "Overig" and in my opinion that is wrong,
but because the key-build is leading in this I corrected the helptext
"Meer" and write in part 4 that this had to be changed in "Overig".
In a later build (m138) the same button as before is not called
"Overig" but "Meer".
Please remember that I didn't prescribe a law. I only tried to give a
guide line regarding the reviews. If you believe that a GUI translation
is wrong, and in this case I think you're right about that, then please
let this know on this mailing list or file an issue to have GUI changed.
I have not a good feeling about this all.
Well, me neither. I really regret that all these different builds cause
a lot of confusion. It is still strange that a newer build holds older
errors in translation, but I'm afraid that is as good as it gets.
In a couple of days 2.0.1RC1 will be available. I really hope that that
build contains the latest GUI translations and the latest help
translation. That would make reviewing a lot easier.
Bert
