I am sorry to say that I never liked the log4j logo. I always found it 100% ugly. Recently somebody else said, he doesn't know what a green cup has to do with logging. I agree with him.
Now the log4j 1.x logo is a green cup. No doubt about it. But log4j 2.x is different. In my opinion we should get the word out and have some kind of logo contest. I am willing to assist and lead, once the current discussion on other places calm down. My hope is, we would release the first stable version of log4j 2.x with a new logo. We are a fresh team, we have a new atmosphere and log4j 2.x is somewhat great. I believe we simply need a logo which expresses all that.
