I just did a debugging session. I explicitly called {{LoggerContext.stop()}} 
from a {{ServletContextListener}}:

I then stopped in the debugger after {{loggerContext.stop()}} was called and 
monitored the thread in Java Mission Control. All I saw was that the threads 
switched to {{TIMED_WAITING}}, but none of them was stopped:
