How about logging to a database... I believe someone had already written
a JDBCAppender? Of course it will influence the performance of your
system but I think there will always be a performance penalty to
if you want to sychronize logging..

like EJBs, Servlets and two EJB instances of same type from different
process try to log to a same
file, what will happen.
