SyslogAppender

I want to send the log to Syslog so in my properties file i'm using

log4j.appender.A1=org.apache.log4j.net.SyslogAppender
log4j.appender.A1.facility=LOG_LOCAL7

I can't see any log in any of the files


Could you plaese tell me what am i missing here
