The sourcecode for Log4j can be downloaded from
http://jakarta.apache.org/log4j/docs/download.html.

You don't need to understand the sourcecode to use it. Just make sure that
an implementation of the JavaMail API is included
(http://java.sun.com/products/javamail/) in the classpath.

The parameters is easy extractable from the JavaDoc.

Hope this helps
