Jesse, You might want to look at the SocketHubAppender that is part of the log4j 1.2 release. Instead of actively seeking a target, it waits for clients to connect to it. Multiple clients can be supported. But you will need to modify the Lumbermill code to connect to the server you want. Plans are being made to add this functionality to Chainsaw and/or LogFactor5, both of which are part of the log4j (I know chainsaw is included in v1.2, I don't know about LF5).
