That would be my last resort, right now I'm just using the log4j.jar file
without the source code files.

BTW - I did noticed that if I set a wrong SMTPHost then I get exception from
the JavaMail object , which means that something is going on there.

I recommend that you set a breakpoint in the SMTPAppender class 
and step through the code.
