Sorry I wasn't clear. The only way to have them use a common config is to use a common config file. I was trying to make the point that by using the common config file you are grouping all of your applications together somewhat.

So, my question is: if there is no common config file in the tomcat/shared/classes how can I tell different projects to use a common config? How can I "tell them"?
