We can certainly -offer- mysql/oracle bindings but if we adapt more generic sql backend api's - we don't lock them into gpl/proprietary choices and there are no other code obstacles to graduating.

Plus the hints and banter can be condensed down to how-to or FAQ in the end. Avoid taking the project offline - it's an easy habit to fall into but we don't want to put community/process back on the 'obstacles to graduation list' :) Bill
