Even if it's just problems getting it up and running, please do use the list. I want to write website content about "common installation probs," so having a guinea pig to point them out will be super helpful. And plus the emails are archived so I'll be able to refer to them later.
I agree with the above - but also more importantly communities at the ASF operate on mailing list(s) and by dealing with issues/discussions here (or thru' Jira which come thru to the list) its a tangible demonstration that lokahi understands how projects at the ASF operate and improve your chance of graduation. I talked to one of the Beehive committers a couple of years ago about their incubation experience (which was donated by BEA) - he said the hardest thing was doing communication thru' the list when the core developers all sat together at BEA - I guess iits a similar situation for lokahi. Some of it is just logistics of getting him up and running. -----Original Message----- From: William A. The sql stuff will resolve itself (with a bit of elbow grease). We can certainly -offer- mysql/oracle bindings but if we adapt more generic sql backend api's - we don't lock them into gpl/proprietary choices and there are no other code obstacles to graduating. > Also, > Bill Stoddard (Geronimo) wants to install Lokahi for use in his area in > IBM for evaluation, and help us get a sense of what it would take to > have Lokahi control the Geronimo stack. Plus the hints and banter can be condensed down to how-to or FAQ in the end. Avoid taking the project offline - it's an easy habit to fall into but we don't want to put community/process back on the 'obstacles to graduation list' :) Bill ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------ Notice: This e-mail message, together with any attachments, contains information of Merck & Co., Inc.
