I do much of my web stuff (sometimes it's just too slow so I don't bother)
and all my nntp encrypted.  My connections to my mail server likewise,
although SMTP coming in to it is plain-text, as is my outgoing SMTP.  A
paid-for account with anonymiser.com is well worth it I reckon.
