You could try asking (at random) [EMAIL PROTECTED]  (the phone co.) 
I get the impression the computing community is pretty interrelated

What are you trying to do?  'Eg get tala �slenskur (a little! -- even
if I can't type it in and ASCII XTerm under X on Linux/PPC).

The ISO 8859-1 character set should have all you need ...
The ISO_8859-1_National_Character_Set_FAQ has useful advice.

I have setup instructions for Linux if that helps ... the final instruction
is:  rebooti� :-)
