There will be a hardware upgrade fund. It will cost £50 to
contribute and donors will then get the same rights on the box as
the original buyers.

If anyone wants to organise this (speccing requirements, collecting
money, etc) then that would be a fine thing. If someone who hadn't paid
anthing was to volunteer to organise it, then that might well be
considered a full contribution :)
