I also surprised myself when searching for "perl" at www.redbooks.ibm.com:
Most of the books are about managing big iron and/or the software on it,
the remainder is e-commerce related.   The redbook "OSS for OS/390 Unix" is
interesting reading -- I'd like to see what some little Perl filter programs 
run like on boxes with huge memory and huger I/O channels!
