in light of the camel-boosting on this list of late, my heart impels
me to offer a few words in favour of our fine prospective candidate for
leadership, paul mison.

a man too modest yet to boost himself[0], he seeks not to elevate his own
position but to advance the mutual welfare of our group of mongers, our
position in the greater society, the serenity of our list.

a man whose commitment to the group has never wavered, a near unblemished
attendance record at technical and social gatherings. whose selfless
dedication to the secure reconstruction of our server after r00tage, to
the maintenance and propriety of our website. whose cat-herding skills
have been richly shown in organising epic london walks, in bold american
journeys.

our alternative amelia is with respect no more than a stuffed figurehead.
whilst delegation is a fine and necessary ideal, what will befall us when
the responsibility for it is devolved onto an unelected factotum, or a
diffident quorum?

paul mison speaks with the quietly attentive voice of reason amongst the
crowd of yay-sayers, the plangent toilet-seat-stealers of today.

as the master confucius tells us, "the gentleman desrires to be halting in
speech but quick in action."

i doubt not that paul would shoulder all our contradictory requests as
befits the benevolent man. for he exhibits in his person the "unbending
strength, resoluteness, simplicity and reticence [which] are close to
benevolence."

of the last week, thus silent
