I just talked to a colleague who gave me an idea. If the hotel will only provide one bill for the room instead of two, then those who want to hand in the bill to their company for reimbursement (or who want only half of the room price deducted from their credit card if the hotel's software can't handle splitting the bill for the CC reader) could try this:
Ask for two bills to be produced, one for half the number of days and the other for the other half. Works best, of course, if you're staying 4, 6, ... nights. But since the last night is more expensive in the MMA, I suppose you could work out a variation where you get one bill for two nights which monger A pays, another for the next two nights which monger B pays, and the final one for one night which monger A pays and monger B subsequently reimburses him for half of. Optimum for me would be one bill for four nights with half the amount declared, but one bill for two nights with the full amount would end up as the same total so should be fine. Maybe I'll try emailing the hotel chain to ask whether they do individual bills for double rooms before worrying more (or Greg could ask if he emails CSM again and isn't already stressed enough).
