It also needs the appropriate graphics libs and stuff installing though, but that's just the nature of these things, you may have more luck getting one to work than the other though. Personally, I went off GD around the time it removed gif support, and hordes of customers needed it, so it was a hassle to get appropriate versions of GD, php, apache and openssl that would all happily compile against each other. the hatter
