Contract Vacancy: Application Specialist (Bioinformatics) The company is a world leading Agribusiness Company operating across all major areas of crop protection and seeds, with more than 20,000 employees worldwide and sales of approximately USD $6.3 billion. This contract vacancy is based at their research site near Bracknell, Berkshire. The successful candidate will join the Bioinformatics team and will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of Bioinformatics software applications. Required Start Date: ASAP. Essential: · Use of Databases - 2yrs experience, especially in Oracle and MySQL (Design and administration experience is not required) · UNIX - 3 yrs proven experience · Perl - 3 yrs proven experience · Background in Biology - not necessarily degree level Desirable: · Background in Bioinformatics · Experience of High Throughput Computing, Computer Farms and Queuing systems.
