that sounds reasonable. I know some software which can be used under several
free licenses (e.g. mbed TLS) or also a mix of free and (paid) commercial
licenses.

But I'm not sure if "assignment" is applicable in all countries under all
circumstances. I'm not a lawyer but the (US-) copyright is IMHO different from
e.g. german "Urheberrecht" and AFAIK you can never "lose" your "Urheberrecht"
in Germany.
