It is also the only tool to support lots of partition table styles,
including GPT which is required for any device over 2GB on a PC.

Debian has been using it as their partition tool during install for
quite a few years.

Using it to resize might potentially cause corruption, although I have
never seen it, but in terms of creating partitions, it works great.
