Yes, however ... Debian deprecated "net-tools" (e.g., ifconfig) in
favor of "iproute" (ip addr) back in 2009.

More and more distros are not installing "net-tools" in minimal
installs.  Both Fedora and Red Hat dropped it several years ago in
their minimal installs.

Everything new is working with iproute.

As always, it's important not to confuse some changes ...

E.g., nmcli, systemd, etc...

With completely _unrelated_ and often even much earlier changes ...

E.g., iproute, Dracut, etc...
