We have been running a Phaser 550 for quite some time.

Recently I switched to APPSOCKET because of the need to count pages.

With ifhp-3.3.21 it almost runs. The only problem is about
every second print attempt fails and puts the job in "error".

Retrying always helps.

Here's the printcap snippet:

phaser | phaser-test | Phaser 550 mit accounting
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/phaser
:af=accounting
:lp=/dev/null
:if=/usr/local/print/libexec/filters/ifhp -Tmodel=phaser550,dev=phaser550%9100,debug=3
:ah:rw:sh:sf
:mx#0

and the ifhp.conf part:

[ phaser550 ]
tc=phaser
ps_eoj_at_start@
# close_connection
end_ctrl_t=busy:idle:busy;

Any ideas ?

On a related problem, how would you differentiate between paper prints
and the more costly transparencies, given that people produce the
PostScript files on PCs and transfer them to *nix via FTP?
